--Commercial real estate firm continues to build its strategic DC-to-Dallas footprint with expanded presence in key Southeast market--

ATLANTA  (Oct. 24, 2016) – Regional commercial real estate firm Foundry Commercial is expanding its presence in Atlanta with a new, full-service office that will be led by industry veteran Chris Hurd.

Foundry Commercial’s decision to deepen its platform in the Atlanta market builds on its regional strategy to serve key markets from DC to Dallas, as well as its mantra for building around capable and passionate leaders.  In the case of Hurd, the opportunity to recruit the 20-year industry veteran to the Foundry Commercial team was a significant factor in the expansion.

“Chris has a reputation for excellence both in the city of Atlanta and across the Southeast,” said Gregg Ickes, Managing Director of Services. “We believe that he will not only add to the growing number of talented industry professionals on our team, but will put us in an excellent position to expand our presence in a key market. We never expand just to expand – this is a highly thoughtful and strategic decision and we are excited about what we can bring to the Atlanta market.”

Hurd joins the Foundry Commercial team from Cushman & Wakefield in Atlanta, where he led its tenant advisory business and managed over 50 producers.  Hurd’s twenty-year career spans commercial real estate brokerage, development and investment – all vital assets that will be essential in growing Foundry’s Atlanta presence.

“What attracted me to Foundry Commercial is the company’s commitment to client service, its unique integrated development and investment platform, and its ability to attract and retain a team of seasoned professionals who are passionate about their work,” said Hurd. “I am excited to be help leverage my experience in Atlanta to contribute to Foundry’s continued growth throughout the Southeast.”

Foundry Commercial’s expansion into Atlanta comes less than one year after the company acquired former Cushman & Wakefield affiliate, Thalhimer in both Raleigh and Charlotte, and is reflective of other strategic expansions that were centered around talented professionals, such as the recruitment of Ford Gibson in South Florida, and Charles Jonas in Charlotte.
